Renewals, Requests, & Interlibrary Loan

Borrow from Other Libraries (Interlibrary loan)

Can't find what you need in our library? We can request it from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). For more information, see Interlibrary Loan policies.

Placing Holds

Request

  • Place a hold on a checked out book through the library catalog
  • Check the status of a hold in your Library Account

Notification

  • Notification of an arrived hold is sent through your Whitworth email account
  • Hold requests expire after 30 days for books currently checked out
  • Arrived holds will only be held for seven days

Delivery

  • Arrived holds can be picked up at the circulation desk or at the U-District

Renewals

Students, faculty, and staff can renew online through their library account, over the phone (509.777.3260), or in person at the circulation desk. Late renewals are subject to the overdue policy. Items that have hold/recall requests attached to them will not be renewed.

Library Cards

Current students, staff, and faculty can use their Whitworth ID to borrow materials from the library. Users can also access their library account to check hold requests, renewals, checked out items, or applicable fines.

Community users and Alumni may apply for a library card for borrowing privileges. See For Guest Users and Loan Periods (below) for more information.

When logging into your library account, use the ID number located on the front of your Whitworth ID.
