Scholarly Articles

What is a scholarly article?

Scholarly articles, also called academic articles, are published in academic periodicals called journals. They are written by scholars for other scholars and often document original research.

What does peer-reviewed mean?

Many, but not all, scholarly journals are peer-reviewed or refereed. Articles submitted to a peer-reviewed/refereed journal undergo examination and review by other scholars to ensure high quality, accurate research and good scholarship.
