College Success Foundation (CSF)

Washington State GEAR UP

GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally funded program that increases college access and success for low-income and first-generation students. It provides support services, mentoring, and resources to students from middle school through high school to prepare them for college.

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS)

WSOS is a public-private partnership supporting low- and middle-income Washington students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and healthcare. They provide financial aid, professional development, and mentoring opportunities to help first-generation students succeed in their chosen fields.

College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)

CAMP is a federally funded program that specifically serves students from migrant and seasonal farmworker backgrounds. It offers support services such as academic advising, tutoring, financial aid assistance, and cultural enrichment programs to help first-generation college students succeed.

Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC)

WSAC is an agency dedicated to improving access to higher education for all Washington residents. They provide resources and information on financial aid, scholarships, college planning, and support services for first-generation college students.

National Organizations


First Generation Foundation

The First Generation Foundation is a nonprofit organization that aims to empower and support first-generation college students. They provide scholarships, mentorship programs, and resources to help students navigate the college experience and achieve success.

Center for First-generation Student Success

The Center for First-generation Student Success is an initiative of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and The Suder Foundation. They provide resources, research, and professional development opportunities for colleges and universities to enhance support for first-generation college students.

Council for Opportunity in Education (COE)

COE is a nonprofit organization that advocates for equal access to higher education for low-income, first-generation, and disadvantaged students. They work with policymakers, educators, and institutions to ensure educational opportunities and support services for underrepresented students.

I'm First!

I'm First! is an online community and resource platform for first-generation college students. They provide support, mentorship, and access to information and resources to help students succeed in college and beyond.

The Posse Foundation

The Posse Foundation is a nonprofit organization that identifies, recruits, and supports high-achieving students from diverse backgrounds, including many who are first-generation college students. They provide leadership development, mentorship, and full-tuition scholarships to partner colleges and universities.

American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU)

AASCU is an association representing more than 400 public colleges, universities, and systems. They provide resources, research, and advocacy to promote inclusive excellence and support for first-generation college students and other underrepresented groups.

International Organizations


Education International (EI)

EI is a global federation of teacher unions and associations, representing education professionals worldwide. They advocate for inclusive and equitable education systems, including support for first-generation college students and other marginalized groups.

European Access Network (EAN)

EAN is a network of organizations and individuals working to promote social inclusion and access to higher education across Europe. They collaborate on research, policy development, and best practices to enhance opportunities for first-generation college students and other underrepresented groups.

UNESCO

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. They work towards promoting access to quality education for all, including initiatives to support disadvantaged and marginalized groups, such as first-generation college students.

First-Generation University (FGU)

FGU is a global organization that aims to support first-generation college students and graduates by providing resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. They offer guidance on navigating the challenges of higher education and transitioning into the workforce.

World Education Services (WES)

WES is an international organization that evaluates and advocates for international education. While not solely focused on first-generation college students, they provide resources, research, and publications that explore access and equity in higher education globally.
