Whitworth Library COVID-19 Updates and Resources

What's different in the library?

Library Services

  • Books are no longer being quarantined upon returned.
  • Summit borrowing is available from most participating Summit libraries.
  • Hold & pickup is available for books:
    1. In the library catalog, log into your library account.
    2. Find the Whitworth library book you want and place a hold on it.
    3. You'll receive an email when the book is available to pick up.
    4. Come to the library during open hours and pick up your book at the Circulation Desk.

Library Building

Getting in the library building:

  • A Whitworth ID card is required to get in the building after 6 p.m. Sunday-Thursday. Use the swipe pad to the right of the doors - touch your ID card to it and the doors of knowledge and wisdom will unlock for you.
  • Building hours are reduced. Please see the hours page for a calendar of open times.

Once you're in here:

  • Study rooms can be reserved online up to 3 hours a day, 3 times per week.
  • You may Zoom in all open areas of the library so long as social distancing is maintained.
  • Only one student is allowed per table, unless signage indicates otherwise. Table dividers are available upon request.
  • Masks are required at all times in the building.
  • Computer labs are open.

Getting Help

Librarians and library staff are still available to help! Here are ways to get in touch:

  • Ask a Librarian page has phone numbers and emails for all librarians and library service areas.
  • How Do I... has answers to common research questions.
  • Go to the library's main page to find links to email librarians, make research appointments, or chat with a librarian.
