9 miles W of Whitworth. Follow the mountain bike paths that encompass the basalt cliffs overlooking the creek. It's a beautiful area, located in Riverside State Park.

SE of Spokane. This Spokane area property consists of approximately 876 acres of trails and habitat within the wildlife corridor linking Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge with the Dishman Hills Natural Area.

30 miles SW of Whitworth. Cheever Lake Headquarters Trail is a 3-mile hike in Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge that will take about 2 hours. This is a wonderful birding trail, and spring is the best time to see flocks of birds and the meadows in bloom with flowers.

29 miles SW of Whitworth. Excellent wildlife viewing opportunities in the Public Use Area with its numerous trails that loop through wetlands and pine forest habitats. The Refuge is located near Cheney, WA.

6 miles NW of Whitworth. One of the best access sites is at Indian Painted Rocks
